A Thoughts Portfolio is a public page containing thoughts you choose to share on Sinapsis. It gives you one link someone can read when you want them to know more about how you think.
It can include an experience, a question, an observation, a belief, or something funny. You do not need a professional writing background or a finished philosophy of life.
Start with something you already want to say
Open Sinapsis, create an account or sign in, and write a thought. Start with a subject that has actually occupied your attention.
You could explain something you changed your mind about, what living somewhere taught you, or why an ordinary preference matters to you. If you already have suitable writing in your own notes or posts, use that as a starting point. Remove information you don't want to publish and respect other people's privacy.
The length can follow the thought. A small observation may need a few sentences. An experience may need several paragraphs.
Choose what belongs on the public page
Creating a Portfolio is optional. When you create yours, choose a username and select the thoughts you want included.
Selection matters. You may post a thought to the social experience without wanting it to represent you on a public link. Consider the intended audience before adding a piece to your Portfolio.
Ask whether the writing gives someone something accurate and useful to understand about you. Include different sides if you want: humor, curiosity, an experience, an opinion still being worked out. There is no required number of categories or pieces.
Share it in a situation where it makes sense
You can put the link in a bio where links are allowed, add it to a personal website, or send it directly to someone. A short explanation helps: “I put a few things I've written here. This one is related to what we were talking about.”
You don't need to announce it to everyone. Sharing with one interested person can be enough to discover whether the page helps you start a conversation.
Because the page is public, assume its contents can be viewed and shared beyond your original recipient. Keep anything that requires confidentiality elsewhere.
Understand the two ways your writing can be useful
The Portfolio gives selected thoughts a public home you can share. Within Sinapsis, thoughts can also be discovered and privately responded to, opening one-to-one conversations. Initial interactions begin without names and photos leading them; identity reveal is a later mutual choice.
Creating a page does not guarantee someone will respond, and the network is still developing. You can nevertheless use the page to give people you already know more context about you.
Start with one thought you would enjoy explaining to someone. Then choose whether to add it to your public Portfolio. You can build the collection as you have more to say.
